Part of the college experience is going to see and enjoy non-mainstream bands whose lyrics are tattooed in our brain from constantly pressing the repeat buttons on our ipods and stereos. To be able to go to a very small hole in the wall venue in which the artists sweat literally spews all over your face and the mosh pit keeps taking your attention away from the bands you adore is truly priceless.

Headliner Pepper rocked the show with their mixture of reggae, punk and dub sound.

College gives us the chance to spend a Monday night with one of our favorite bands who most people have never heard off. For one night the magic of singing at the top of our lungs, bouncing and letting the body free flow with seizure moves, Bboys would be proud of is unexplainable. It would be castrophic to not experience all the perks and excuses college gives us. Part of this golden opportunity is taking advantage of being able to connect with a band that is not yet a household name. Seizing the moment and going to the venue is ultimately one of the greatest gifts one can give to themselves.

The Fat Cat had the pleasure of hosting The Expendables and Pepper. The same Expendables that ASUOP brought to our school and made one night at Pacific worth $38,000 dollars. There were all forms of social groups from Pacific and other local colleges. These groups shared the joy of experience great music, life and togetherness. In the real world none of these students would have the opportunity to enjoy the company of each other but for one night we were all close friends.

The importance of the social aspect of college is to capture moments and thoroughly enjoy it. What better way than a great show with a small time band with a big time sound. This is part of the college experience and something we all should strive to partake in more often.* Great live music is all around us; we just have to take the time from our busy days on the couch to find them.

The Ependables are fastly become a cult classic among college students.
