The evil empire has battled all year and even with the loss of key players will easily sweep the struggling Tigers who have lost five straight games and will continue to add to the streak of losses in the playoffs. Minnesota Twins vs. Oakland A’s The Twins have two young studs carrying the weight in Justin Morneau and Joe Maur on the offensive side and Johan Santana and Franscio Liriano on the pitching side. That will not be enough to beat the regular-season-overachieving playoff-underachieving A’s. Frank Thomas gives Oakland a presence on the right side they have not had since the bash brothers, and his will and Oakland’s pitching is going to set up a match up against the Yankees.

St. Louis Cardinal's vs. San Diego PadresThe Cards are one dimensional but that domination will be enough to get the Red birds to the next round. Albert Pujols is going to power the Cards over the Pads. Cardinals 3-1
