New York Yankees vs. Detroit Tigers The Tigers are the feel good story, but unlike the White Sox of last year there will be no A.L. central celebration of a world series. The evil empire has battled all year and even with the loss of key players will easily sweep the struggling Tigers who have lost five straight games and will continue to add to the streak of losses in the playoffs. Yankees 3-0
Minnesota Twins vs. Oakland A’s The Twins have two young studs carrying the weight in Justin Morneau and Joe Maur on the offensive side and Johan Santana and Franscio Liriano on the pitching side. That will not be enough to beat the regular-season-overachieving playoff-underachieving A’s. Frank Thomas gives Oakland a presence on the right side they have not had since the bash brothers, and his will and Oakland’s pitching is going to set up a match up against the Yankees. A’s 3-1
A.L. championshipNew York Yankees vs. Oakland A’s This is the year that moneyball proves with a little extra spending and the right mix of hungry veterans with chips on their shoulders, anything is possible. Oakland will beat the Yankees in seven erasing its painful playoff past. A’s 4-3
New York Mets vs. Los Angels Dodgers The east coast-west coast rivalry is here again and there is going to be alot of questions. The Mets are in deep trouble with their pitching. The Dodgers are an enigma and this will be the best series in the first round. The Mets hitting will be too much in the end. Mets 3-2 St. Louis Cardinal's vs. San Diego PadresThe Cards are one dimensional but that domination will be enough to get the Red birds to the next round. Albert Pujols is going to power the Cards over the Pads. Cardinals 3-1
N.L championships New York Mets vs St. Louis Cardinals
The Mets hitting is going to carry them to the World Series. Carlos Beltron will prove he might be one of the nest playoff hitters all time. Pujols will not be enough as Carlos Delgado and David Wright are going to be fantastic wing mans.
Mets 4-2
