This fall semester started in the middle of August for me. After a summer of work creating a wikipedia like website for a company in Benicia let me show up to Pacific a week early. From moving into the Townhouses and preparing for the coming party filled life and most importantly the classes I had to attend to be on course for graduation.

If there is any advice I can ever give anyone, have 2 classes a day without any class on Friday. If possible, take classes at night or classes once a week. This semester I pulled off 16 units with only 5 classes a week. This gives you the chance to sleep more, and spend more time learning about yourself. Or others may take it as the chance to party more and work more often.

It seems like this fall semester has flown by, having covered many topics on partying that I never thought I could have written about. It all started with disgruntling my RA’s and learning that Pacific will enforce the party registration form. Playing their game and following their paper-work rules is what became of “Partying at Pacific Isn’t The Same.”

Then I got in this mindset of “hey! Lets follow Marcel’s advice and write about partying in The Pacifican for an entire semester!” This then brought me into my second article on “Why do Pacific students feel the need to party?” Faculty and staff at Pacific do realize that Pacific students will party, as it is acceptable since we’re too busy studying and have the need to relax ourselves. Unfortunately, as I’m finding now, people call me up nightly to say “lets party” and its always the same people.

Next thing that sparked interest was the point of the difference between Beirut and Beer Pong. There are now Facebook groups and arguments from either side. The ultimate response to it (as taken from the comments on The Pacifican Online), is that whatever the name of the game is, it’s to have fun and get drunk. It’s a drinking game as long as people know how to play it doesn’t particularly matter about its name.

After the first five weeks of school we were learning about “Pacifics’ Stiffler” which led to numerous people asking me who this character is. Most students who are in touch with the happenings of the students on this campus knew who he was just by the title alone. Having written this first article on a student opened the doors to more article like the same.

Halloween came next with an article that was like most other articles at the time. The New York Times wrote nearly the same ideas about how girls on Halloween dress up slutty and how it is ok.

By now I had scatter-brain and no real thing to really talk about. You, as the reader might have begun to see this and wondered where I would bring my articles next.

The act of being sexiled soon appeared in the paper and it brought joy to many students’ hearts. The acts going on behind the scenes however are really what triggers my thoughtful, conversational tone writings.

When I begin my writings each time I think about what is personally afflicting me at the time. I don’t really care about much and will soon find myself jumping into the realization that I am no longer a Pacific student and another working ant on this giant ant hill that we call earth.

What I am trying to go for here is the fact that since nothing really bothers me, even though I’ve seen people try, come to me with stories you would like to see written about. Provide me with people I can get in touch with and you’ll see an article in the paper. Pacific Perspectives attempted to do this but failed in doing so this past fall semester.

Coming this spring expect to see a wonderful piece on “Pacifics’ New Years Resolutions” from the eyes of a student who has seen Pacific’s many faces. Partying will not be the main focus but more of something new and better. Have a wonderful winter break and we’ll see you back here next spring, unless of course you are graduating and getting out of here!
