It was not a good week for Pacific athletics.
To add insult to injury the Men’s Basketball team’s streak of three Big Dance appearances ended in the hands of Fullerton in double overtime.
The 49ers made some big league free agent signings, and with the right draft the Niners can be in the playoffs as early as next year. And as for the Raiders, why God why?
Call your bookie, it’s bracket time and the greatest sports month in the whole year. The madness has begun.
How did Xavier and Arkansas make the tourney over Florida State who beat teams like Florida, Duke, Maryland and North Carolina State. Granted, FSU did finish their conference record under 500, but the conference is the ACC.
Florida State was not the only school with a legitimate complaint. Drexel, Kansas State, and Syracuse also got snubbed.
Most underrated team?
Does anyone know what Washington State is ranked in the nation? 11th to be exact and they have a 3 seed in the tourney.
I thought all the Cougars had was underachieving NFL QBs but this Washington State team has the makeup of Cinderella. Even though technically with those ratings they are not considered a sleeper team.
I have UCLA, Florida, UNC and Nevada.
That is right, Nevada in the Final Four. I also have Long Beach dub All-stars in the sweet 16 making them my this year’s George Mason pick.
Ron Artest picked a bad time to act up again but if Artest can lead the Kings into the playoffs, Sac fans might forget his shenanigans.
With fantasy baseball around the corner trendy sleeper picks like Lastings Milledge, Connor Jackson, Josh Barfield, Juan Pierre, Jamie Moyer, Gary Mathews Jr. and Scott Olson are all going to be duds. Word of advice: be very careful with mainstream sleepers, as they’re not even real sleepers considering everyone knows about them.
Join a pick ‘em league on Yahoo. It will help you get more into March Madness despite the fact that Pacific is taking a year off. Warriors beat the Mavs and did not lose anyone to injury.
Hopefully this week is a better week for Pacific athletics. Views: 389
