KPAC Student Radio, 89.7 FM is the Central Valley’s premiere college radio station. KPAC broadcasts out of the communications building here at Pacific, and reaches two miles through Stockton from our antenna on Burns Tower. The station is run entirely by members of the Pacific community, and is aspiring to continue a solidifi ed and recognizable name for itself on the Pacifi c campus. Pacific’s radio station has offered students their own shows in the past, but this year we are opening shows to all members of the Pacific community, such as faculty, staff, and on-campus clubs and organizations. Typically shows run for an hour, though hosts may request more. We broadcast a wide variety of show types, such as special interest talk shows, interviews, advice, music, news and sports. For example, members of Pacifi c’s DJing club, The Pacifi c Mixers, host live music mixes on KPAC.

Some cool features of your station: Listeners can call in on the air at (209) 946-2808 or send us a message on AIM at KPACRadio. KPAC hosts events and can do live broadcasts from remote locations. Our website features our internet stream, show listings with show descriptions, links to other music-related websites, our applications, and a video and picture tour of KPAC. Just like last year, hosts can turn on a camera to place live video over Channel 2. We are soon going to allow recording and archiving of our shows, so viewers can download the audio files of past shows onto their computer. We are working to get a live-video stream on the website this year as well.

PAC-2 Television - For the majority of last year on PAC-2 Television (Channel 2), you would hear heavy metal music over the upcoming events PowerPoint. KPAC Radio’s new student management decided to switch the music majority from heavy metal to electronic, because we felt that heavy metal distracted and deterred students away from watching our PowerPoint loop.

If you would like your own show or to assist in the growing of KPAC this year, please go to our website at: http://kpac.pacific.edu or email us at . You can promote your on-campus event for free through KPAC and Pac-2 TV and more details are on our website!
